School Information

For families with children, the decision to relocate to a new city has extra dimensions including the availability of neighborhood parks and playgrounds and the reputation of area schools. After all, it would be selfish of parents to move down and take a job in internet project management if it would limit their children's prospects for the future. Luckily, parents relocating to Modesto don't have this worry. Modesto California has an excellent school system making it a great city for families with young children to purchase real estate. Here is a brief overview of the education resources in Modesto.

Modesto School Board

Since 1871 the education of Modesto's youngsters has been of paramount importance to city residents. That was the year they decided to establish the school district and the school board that administers it. As the district aged it grew to encompass both academic and comprehensive education paths as well as a dedicated night school program for adults. Rather than filling the area around Modesto schools with cottages, house plans were deferred in order to give each school a public park next door. At present, there are about 32,000 students attending Modesto schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Elementary

A good elementary education is essential for young children because it teaches the most basic skills, such as reading comprehension and arithmetic that provide the basis for further learning. Before your child can grow up to put together online landscape designs, he or she must first learn to draw with crayons. These schools are some of the places in Modesto where your child can learn such things: El Vista Elementary, which has a literary focus, Fremont Elementary, which is an open-plan school, Lakewood Elementary, which has a youth theater, and Sonoma Elementary, which is barrier-free.

Junior High and High School

In Modesto, there are four junior high schools where grades run from 7-8 and nine high schools where grades run from 9-12. Many classes are offered in Spanish and at the high school level students will be able to choose between college preparatory and skilled trades education paths depending on whether they want to become an electronic design consultant or a automotive repair technician. Beyer High School is known for its marching band and debate programs, while Thomas Downey High School has an agriculture department. Students studying to enter trades often find their homes at Elliot High School.

Post Secondary

For students who want to save money by staying at home while they study for their future jobs working in a Canada trademark office will find several respectable options in and around Modesto. Modesto Junior College helps those students who haven't made the college cut prepare for their next go while the Stanislaus campus of California State University in nearby Turlock has a variety of programs with a specialization in liberal arts. There are also trade schools for trucking, welding, beauty, and medical assistance in the city.
